I don’t really want to talk about it, but I got ‘terminated’ from Onstar yesterday. To give you the quick summary; some black girls from across the row saw a little cartoon I was drawing. I went to break; the black girls searched my bag and didn’t find it. I came back from break with Leanne (head of Charlotte HR) breathing down my neck demanding for the picture. She and Jeff Jones (head manager of the sales floor) ‘council’ me (meaning yelling and screaming and calling me a liar to my face) in an office. The picture disappeared, so I could not give it to them, I didn’t have it and I didn’t know where it was (so I told them, and at that point I was telling the truth). They suspended me, I called head of HR for Convergys; Hugh Bulock (old head of HR for Sitel when they still ran the show) calls me a few days later, listens to my story, and basically shrugs me off. He said he would have to talk with Leanne and Jeff about this directly. Meanwhile, while I’m on the phone with Hugh, Jeff calls my phone and leaves a message stating that I am fired as of last Thursday. No documentation, no write ups, no proof of the drawing, and no paperwork what-so-ever. So, today is Tuesday, I have applied at three different places on Monster.com, and looking into an IT position at Olan Mills Photography. I haven’t heard anything back yet from any jobs.
